A beach getaway or a lake family get together is fun. But if you are thinking of adding a little adventure flavor to the event, then you must be considering renting a personal watercraft like a jet ski.

Don’t know where to start?

Okay. Let us say you have already prepared everything and you are just adding some details for your vacation. You are now discovering where to get jet ski rental.

Among many possible places to look into, there are 2 practical locations to start searching: the internet and the same resort or park you are going.

Basically, if you are going on a package, there are options where you can add jet ski rental. These could be done online or offline. There are rental sites on the internet that where you can find available jet skis you can use for a certain period of time with a specified rate. Renting from certain sites will allow you to use the jet ski for the whole day. You can also have a trailer and a tie-down that come with additional price.

These sites can also offer other personal watercrafts not only jet ski.

You can also check for the availability of jet skis once you arrive on your location. Usually, beach resorts and other parks have available jet skis for you to rent. Rentals on these locations are more restricted and they usually rate their rentals on an hourly basis.

Of course, the freedom to choose between these two options is entirely yours.

You should remember that when you rent a jet ski, you are bounded by rules. This is like renting a car. The only difference is that the on a jet ski rental, safety gears are included.

Included on the rent is the different gears you would need when you are making waves either on the open seas or on lakes.

For most rental sites (whether online or offline) require you to be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a major credit card.

To avail jet ski rental, visit one of the several sites on the internet and inquire about how you can get your feet on one for their jet skis. You can also call or email your travel agency or the place where you will spend your vacation for the availability of jet ski in their location and have it as an add-on.

It's time to take a look at the ocean, you might just find some inspiration.

The latest craze in extreme sports is kitesurfing, it only started out in 1990 but there are tens of thousands of enthusiasts around the world. You can go to any ocean side on a Sunday and you'll see that kitesurfing has a strong following and has expanded quickly.

The kitesurfing board is a surfboard but shorter and the kitesurfer is attached to it with foot straps or bindings. You have the board attached to a kite, that looks more like a parachute, by a series of lines of various lengths. The board is propelled by the kite across the water at quite great speeds.

The challenge in kitesurfing is that your body is the only connection between the kite and the board and mastering the control of both the kite in the air and the board on the water is a key point.

If you're asking yourself how it's possible for a kite to stay in the air while holding the weight of the board and your weight at the same time the explanation is this: while flying, a kite is creating it's own wind and the wind it creates is faster than the wind powering it producing more power than the actual wind.

The Kitesurfing Gear

You might think that kitesurfing is not an expensive sport but that's not entirely true, the board and kite aren't the only equipment you need. Other equipment components are a kite pump(inflatable kite), bar, lines, board harness, life jacket and helmet. If you'll add the starting lessons you'll get a good amount that you'll have to spend.

Taking Kitesurfing Lessons

The theory behind kitesurfing is simple enough, the practice is another story. Because of that you need a little while to master. Kitesurfing enthusiasts should take lessons from an experienced kitesurfing instructor before practicing this sport, no matter how much experience you have with surfing or windsurfing.

Wakeboarding is a sport of the times. A wakeboarder is a person towed behind a boat or a cable skiing lift at a speed of around 18-24 mph. The main difference is that instead of skis, the rider uses a single board, shorter in length and wider than snowboards, with foot bindings.

For decades, surfing was the favorite sport of the beach lover. Even in doing this sport, one would require transportation by boat from one location to another. In 1985, a San Diego Surfer named Tony Finn developed a hybrid of the water ski and the surfboard. He called this the Skurfboard. This new board looked almost exactly like a surfboard but was pulled by a boat while its rider performed new skills and tricks. The sport was consequently called Skurfing. Later that summer, foot straps were added to these boards and this was a big thing. This allowed riders to do more free-flowing and dynamic stunts. However, the sport continued to struggle due to a lack of innovation and technology surrounding the boards.

Herb O’Brien, a successful businessman in waterskiing and the owner of H.O. Sports, changed the face of the sport by refining the boards, making it possible for riders to perform even more stunts. Other companies soon followed suit. The sport gained large and wide audiences in 1992, when World Sports & Marketing, a Florida-based sports and events promoter, began setting up wakeboard events. This gave wakeboarders a chance to compete on a professional level at the same time getting exposure on international sports stations ESPN and ESPN2. The sport got more validation when World Publications launched its own publication, Wake Board Magazine, in 1993. With each passing year, support for the Pro Wakeboard Tour and the magazine continue to grow. To add to this, various cups have been formed and launched and are eagerly anticipated and widely attended.

For the average beach dweller, the pull of the sport is obvious. Unlike surfing, it is fairly easy to pick-up. You have something to hold on to when wakeboarding and, for a lot of people, this support is a real perk. The obvious other advantages are there. With Wakeboarding, you are free to do the sport at any time. While surfers need to follow the waves, wakeboarders can be active on any beach. The only thing necessary is a boat to pull you along. There is a lot of room for self-expression as well. Much like water-skiers, wakeboarders have the freedom to reach for greater and greater heights when doing stunts. Some interesting trivia about wakeboarding include the following. At present, there are over 3.1 million wakeboarders worldwide. A video game about wakeboarding called Wakeboarfing Unleashed was released in 2003. The average income for wakeboarders is $95, 400 USD. Wakeboarding is now part of the X-Games and Gravity Games attracting even more attention and credibility as an extreme water sport. 75% of wakeboarders are male and aged 13-24, but a growing number of female wakeboarders are beginning to make a dent on the male-dominated sport. In addition, wakeboarding is currently the fastest growing water sport.

You can relax on a private yacht and travel at your own pace, pampered all the way, for much less than what you end up paying for a crowded cruise ship. Private yacht charters are becoming increasingly popular for intimate and flexible vacations. And most yacht charters are just as attentive to your needs as any cruise ship.

The private yacht charter allows you the freedom to spontaneously change your mind and stay an extra night at your favorite island or to explore an uninhabited island close by.

Your location is the single most important point of your entire vacation. Pick a calm, protected location with many islands all within sight, with many gorgeous lagoon anchorages.

Private yacht charters are favored by honeymooners, family reunions or by close friends who want to spend their time together undisturbed. Buddies looking for an opportunity for fishing in tranquil waters, deep-sea diving, water skiing or just relax on a secluded beach can also find private yacht charter a fulfilling experience.

Generally, individuals who want to enjoy a quiet vacation prefer small motor yachts staffed by a crew. Such charters are easy on the pocket as they cost anywhere between $5,000 and $25,000 a week, depending on the size of the yacht.

Since it is a cheaper alternative, college youths can also afford to enjoy their dream vacation aboard a small boat, surrounded by the blue sea or a lagoon amidst a cluster of islands, particularly in The Bahamas, the Virgin Islands or the Mediterranean near Greece.

You have the freedom to choose a yacht, its route, anchorage and stopovers, cuisines that you would like to have for every meal, assortment of drinks and beverages and activities, such as water sports and sight-seeing on land during your vacation.

Inflatable dinghies work best as sailing boats or as a tender for a yacht. Yacht owners often prefer a dingy that will inflate because traditional dinghies are famous for scratching the side of a yacht. They are ideal as a tender because they are light weight and buoyant. They can be lifted on and off the yacht easily. An inflatable is best for both easy storage and preventing damage to the side of the ship.

A dinghy is a necessity on a sailing vacation. The best sailing dinghy is an inflatable model. The dinghy takes you ashore and allows you to find the best places to explore, places you couldn’t reach in a full sized sail boat. Better materials and construction methods make these dinghies as durable as non inflatable models.

Storing the dingy is easy with an inflatable model. You can deflate the dinghy and store it on the boat. If you will be using it frequently to go back and forth to the shore, it may be better not to keep inflating and deflating it. This can be a hassle, although it doesn’t take much time to accomplish. You can inflate the dinghy for the first trip ashore and then tow it behind the sail boat for the time you will be anchored near shore. They are as easy to tow as traditional sailing dinghies, and neither type should be towed far from shore because weather conditions can be unpredictable.

Because inflatable dinghies require little storage space when deflated, you can easily bring one with you on your next camping trip. Lightweight dinghies are made to fit in a backpack for easy traveling. The lighter weight boats are smaller and seat fewer people, but for a couple or three people, they work best as portable fishing boats or sail boats. The larger inflatables weigh up to fifty pounds, and are more difficult to carry on a camping trip where you will need to carry the dingy for larger distances.
